Essentially, there are three types of hammocks namely, rope, fabric and string hammocks. One of the most popularly used styles is the rope hammock.
Outdoor and Portable Hammocks
Hammock chairs, stands and swings
Imagine that you have finally been given that long leave period you have been pining for quite some time now. You make that appealing decision to go to a beach resort and spend five straight days just lounging around, doing whatever you want. And when you're lounging on the beach, having a hammock can really add to the pleasure of your whole vacation. Yes, hammocks can definitely enhance your beach vacation.
But when you are considering getting a hammock of your own, you actually have a few things to consider. This is because there are different types of hammocks that are available in the market. And with these different types, you can be sure that there are also a number of advantages and disadvantages that come with them.
When you visit hammock retail shops or online shops that sell hammocks, you would actually be given a display of hundreds upon hundreds of different hammocks. Looking at them can be daunting enough, much more so if you would have to choose just one from all of the many choices you have! Interestingly, though, these hundreds of hammocks can actually be set into just three categories when you group them according to the material that they are made of. These three materials include rope, string, and fabric.
Rope hammocks actually give you the most traditional look of the three. In fact, when people think of hammocks, most tend to picture these as made of rope. What's good about rope hammocks is the fact that they are very, very durable. Because of such durability, rope hammocks do not really require that much when it comes to maintenance. What's more, rope hammocks are not that pricey as well.
Finally, rope hammocks come with the amazing ability to "breathe". This means the hammock can let you benefit the most from the sea breeze that you would get during your vacation. But then again, rope hammocks leave many impressions on your skin, which can be negative.
String hammocks, on the other hand, do not leave any skin impressions. They are also very reliable when it comes to ventilation. What's more, these hammocks are very lightweight, so you will not have to worry about the extra load when packing your string hammock for your vacation. But then again, string hammocks do not really promise that much durability, especially when compared with rope and fabric hammocks.
Lastly, cotton or meshes are the materials that make up fabric hammocks. This type is highly durable as well, and does not demand much for maintenance either. Fabric hammocks do not leave any skin impressions either. However, fabric hammocks do not really give that much ventilation.
With these pros and cons in mind, you can surely narrow down your search for hammocks. Just go for the type that suits your needs, as well as fits your personality.
